CLIENT OBJECTIVES

Our client went on a company-wide cost-cutting initiative, where they identified facilities maintenance as an area that needed improvement. It was a top priority to develop strategies that would reduce facility expenses, consolidate their supplier invoices, and develop a more transparent system to track facilities management activities.

VALUE DELIVERED

We delivered an integrated facilities management program to six manufacturing plants for a large tire manufacturer, which resulted in managing close to 3,000,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Across six plants, we produced an average savings of 25% per plant, with one plant in particular realizing a 47% expense reduction.

SOLUTIONS

The client awarded the facilities management contract to us because the proposal aligned perfectly with their objectives. Since the contract’s inception, the relationship has produced numerous success stories. We consolidated 90% of the client’s facilities invoices. We also implemented a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), that systematized the client’s work orders into defined priority categories and allowed them to check work order status, root causes, and gave them more complete descriptions of the requested work orders. This provided greater visibility into the requirements of the plants. We also exceeded our own savings estimates by an average of 14%.

The contract has been so successful that this particular client awarded EFS the facilities management contract at an additional six sites, totaling over 6 million square feet of manufacturing space.

BACKGROUND

This client manufactures tires for airplanes, automobiles, trucks, and bicycles, to name just a few. They have manufacturing sites across the United States.
