EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS) delivered an exterior services program that centralized this retail banking client’s operations across more than 25 million square feet of exterior space, while also enhancing their commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Supplier diversity and supporting local businesses are core components of this client’s belief in corporate responsibility, which they wanted to see reflected in their exterior services program. Through our robust supplier network, we were able to increase the client’s diversity spend by 75 percent in only two years.

Simultaneously, our centrally managed program was also able to consolidate 66 different points of contact at more than 700 locations into a single key account manager.

Client Objectives

This client was looking for landscaping and snow-removal services that could increase the diversity spend within their supplier base, while also simplifying their vendor communications process.

Solutions

We leveraged our industry connections to:

  • Utilize both EFS and client-incumbent suppliers who were certified Minority, Women, and Veteran owned Business Enterprises (MWVBE)
  • Identify current uncertified suppliers who met the MWVBE criteria, and mentoring them through the certification process
  • Leverage our membership with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and partnership with the Department of Veteran Affairs to identify additional suppliers to deliver exterior services
  • Assign a single EFS Key Account Manager to oversee all aspects of the program

Client Background

This bank chain operates 1,400 retail branches and more than 3,500 ATMs in 12 states, with non-branch offices in 30 states. EFS is also the exclusive provider of computer room air conditioning for their data centers.
